I just want to start by telling you why we started providing eyelash extensions.  Quite simply, they are one of the most dramatic, non-invasive improvements you can make for your face in an hour and only for $100.

The lashes we use are a silk fibre and we can customise the length to your taste.  At QED, the goal of eyelash extensions is for people to comment:" I never realised what gorgeous lashes you have".

As you know, we are also about convenient, time saving saving treatments that make you feel good about yourself.  With eyelash extensions, many people don't feel they need to use mascara, which saves them time in the am.  They wake up looking glamorous & ready to face anything.

So, how does it work?  Naturally curled lashes are carefully applied one by one to your top lashes, using a fume free glue.  No glue comes in contact with your skin, only the lash.  We start with shorter lashes near your nose & gradually taper to longer lashes to achieve a natural, glamorous look.  Initially, it takes about an hour & is completely pain-free.  Most people fall asleep...

How much???? A full set (takes about an hour), costs $100.  Lash infills, (2-3 weeks after initial set), costs $60 (30 minutes).  Some people who are big eye rubbers may need a full set at 3 weeks...

How long do they last?  Well, that depends on a few factors but generally you will get about 4-6 weeks of glamour (unless you are a big eye rubber)  After 2 weeks, some start to get loose & so if you want to maintain perfect eyelashes all the time, there is a window of opportunity to get your lashes filled in ($60) around the two week mark.  After three weeks have passed though a full set will be needed to get back to perfection.

Can I wear mascara with my lashes?  Many of our customers don't feel they need mascara over their eyelashes, which is great for work or on holiday.  You can use mascara over the extensions, though as long as it is not waterproof.

I am very fair, do I need to tint my lashes first?  We do recommend tinting first for fair lashes as your lashes will continue to grow with the extensions on & any regrowth will be obvious.

I wear contact lenses, can I get eyelash extensions?  Yes, no glue comes in contact with your eyes or skin.  It is probably best to have your lenses out when you have the extensions or infills.

I am pregnant, can I get eyelash extensions?  Sure, we use the fume-free glue.  We will probably elevate the bed a little though for your comfort.  It is also fine in breast feeding as the glue doesn't't come in contact with the skin.

What about sensitive skin? It is not likely to be an issue because of the lack of contact but we are happy to do a little patch test, where we will apply a single lash to a hair right behind your ear.  Then you wait 24 hours & see if you get a reaction.

Who can't get eyelash extensions?  If you have no lashes at all (eg. right after chemo), then there is nowhere to graft the eyelash extensions to.  As long as there is some lash there, we can apply extensions.  We have some post-chemo clients, where it works beautifully, even though their lashes are still quite short.  Feel free to drop in if you want someone to look at yours.

How can I make my eyelash extensions last as long as possible?  Don't rub your eyes or pick at your lashes!!!  Use oil-free makeup removers (we give you one free with your lashes) & oil-free mascara.  Always clean your eyes in the direction of your lashes.  PLUS, we send you away with a little brush to tame them back in the right direction if a few become askew.
